Community High School (Example Advert)

Community High School is a high performing school which, for the last three years, has been in the top 100 schools nationally for CVA both at GCSE and A Level. Our vision of "excellence for all and from all" is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that everyone associated with our school achieves and excels. The school is a mixed 11 to 18 comprehensive school which serves a large metropolitan area. It is an average-sized school with approximately 940 students on roll, around 120 of whom are in the Sixth Form. In its sixth year as a Performing Arts College, the school has a lively atmosphere and rich extended learning opportunities. Our Arts Centre serves both our school and the wider community. As a recognised High Performing Specialist School, the bid to take on Maths & Computing as a second specialism was successful. This will further increase the focus on utilising ICT in all subjects, especially within maths teaching. Additionally, we have strong links with Olympic ideals especially within sporting activities and striving for personal best performances. This is a comprehensive school in that it offers diverse educational pathway choices and a broad range of extended learning opportunities. Our students have many interests, gifts and talents. We are proud, for example, of the success of students with Statements of Special Educational Need or who are on our SEN list; also those students who attain excellent qualifications. A high proportion of students at the school go on to further and higher education, including to Oxford and Cambridge.
